141 brands have debuted in the category since tracking began. Three of them arrived inside the top three on June 8. The category is not settling. It is still sorting.

We take one category apart in depth as our history deepens. This season, Bedding earned the slot: more of its top ten turned over than any other corner of the catalogue — 82% of the top ten turned over.

The movement

Who climbed, who slipped, who arrived.

Alaska Bear moved from 21 to 2, the longest climb of the window. EPABO went from 12 to 3. Coyuchi pushed from 14 to 4. Against that current, Brookstone fell from 5 to 11, Mediflow dropped from 3 to 6, and Linenspa slid from 5 to 7. On June 8, three newcomers — Nidra, Mavogel, and MZOO — arrived at positions 1, 2, and 3.

Lens 01 · The AI panel

The leaderboard churned.

Saatva and Brooklinen hold the top of the AI panel's race. Tempur-Pedic and Parachute are in the contest. Over the two weeks, the number-one position did not change once. The models are firm at the crown while the broader rankings beneath them move hard.

The split of the season

Same question, different answers.

Ask the assistants for the best duvet and they return four different answers. OpenAI chose LaCrosse Down Duvet. Claude chose Luxe Down Comforter. Gemini chose Down Duvet Insert All-Season. Perplexity chose All-Year Down Alternative Comforter. Four assistants, four number-one picks, zero overlap. On a question this specific, the machines have not converged.

When the assistants answer the same question with different products, the disagreement itself is the signal — the human cross-check shows whose pick the buyers and reviewers actually back.

Lens 02 · Google reviews

The crowd saw it first.

Brookstone holds a 4.7-star average across 66 Google reviews. The models rank it 26th. The crowd and the models are 25 positions apart on the same brand. A 4.5-star category average says buyers are broadly satisfied, but the gap on Brookstone is a clean disagreement — not noise.

The rivalries

Two fights that defined the window.

The structural fight
Incumbents
vs
Fresh / upstart

The fresh-upstart band took 30 points of the top ten from the incumbents over the window.

The shape of the shift

What actually moved underneath the leader.

Incumbents held 60% of the top ten in the first week. By June 8 they held 40%. Fresh and upstart brands went from zero to 30%. Premium brands fell from 40% to 30%. The structural shift is not subtle. The upstart band took 30 points from incumbents in one window.

The editor's read

The crown has not moved. Saatva and Brooklinen are stable where the AI panel looks. Everything beneath them is in motion. Alaska Bear and EPABO made the kind of climbs that get attention. Nidra, Mavogel, and MZOO arrived at the top three on the last day of the window. Whether they hold is the only question that matters now.

What to watch next season
  • 01Whether Nidra, Mavogel, and MZOO hold their June 8 positions or fall back as fast as they arrived.
  • 02Brookstone: 4.7 stars from buyers, rank 26 from the models — one of those numbers will move toward the other.
  • 03Alaska Bear at rank 2 — the brand climbed 19 positions in two weeks and has not yet been tested at the top.
