Robot Vacuums
The crown never moved, but the room around it did.
325 brands sit in the robot vacuum tracker now. Over 21 weeks, 258 of them showed up for the first time. The top of the board held firm — Roborock and Dreame never lost the crown — but underneath it, the aisle turned over. Coredy climbed 19 spots. Narwal climbed 18. Neato fell 17. Almost half the top ten changed hands.
The story here isn't the leader. It's the churn beneath the leader. Mova, Switchbot, and LG walked in from nowhere and took shelf space that incumbents held since tracking began. By the last week, upstarts held 30 percent of the top ten. In April they held none.
We take one category apart in depth as our history deepens. This season, Robot Vacuums earned the slot — picked on a weighted read of rank movement, AI disagreement and reviewer coverage.

Who climbed, who slipped, who arrived.
Coredy went from 42 to 23, Narwal from 25 to 7, Dreame from 16 to 2 — all climbing into contention. Neato fell from 12 to 29, Dreametech from 13 to 26, Wyze from 14 to 20. Three newcomers landed inside the top twenty within weeks of each other: Mova at 11 on Jun 8, Switchbot and LG both at 14 and 16 on May 4.

The leaderboard churned.
Roborock and Dreame anchored the top of the rank race for all 21 weeks. Eufy and Ecovacs ran alongside them, but the number one spot never changed hands — zero flips across the window. The real movement happened just under the crown, where Dreame's climb from 16 to 2 pressed hardest against the leaders without ever displacing them.

Same question, different answers.
Ask the panel for the best robot vacuum for carpet and you get five different answers from six assistants. Perplexity and ChatGPT both landed on the Saros 20. AI Mode picked the Robot Vacuum Omni S2. Gemini went with the Roomba j9+. Claude chose the Saros 10. Grok picked the Roomba Combo j10+. Two of six agreed. The rest split four ways.

The crowd saw it first.
The crowd and the models don't read the same category. Tineco holds 4.9 stars across 375 reviews and sits at 15. LG holds 4.8 across 92,000 reviews and sits at 16. Tapo holds 4.8 across 39,000 reviews and sits at 17. Meanwhile iRobot holds a cooler 4.1 and the models still keep it at 5. The panel runs hot on iRobot and cold, relatively, on brands the buyers love most.

Where the machines and the room part ways.
The panel oversells the X40 Ultra, ranked 3 while human reviewers stay cooler. Same story with the Qrevo Curv at 9. Underneath, the Freo Z Ultra sits at 20 and the L20 Ultra at 25, both warmer with humans than the AI panel credits. The DEEBOT X8 Pro Omni and the Qrevo Pro are the calm spots — AI and humans land on the same read for both, at 19 and 22.
AI ranks them high — reviewers + buyers cooler.
Humans rate them top — the models rank them low.
AI and the humans land in the same place.

Where the cameras pointed.
Anker claims a third of tracked creator coverage — 33 percent. iLife and Samsung split 17 percent each. The rest of the field shares the remaining third. Coverage concentrated hard around a small set of names even as the ranked list underneath kept shifting.

The fights that defined the window.
What actually moved underneath the leader.
A year ago the top ten belonged almost entirely to incumbents — 100 percent at the start of the window. By the close, fresh and upstart brands held 30 percent of it. The leader didn't move. The floor under the leader did.

Nobody took the crown from Roborock or Dreame in 21 weeks, and the AI panel never wavered on that point. But the ground shifted under both of them. Nearly half the top ten turned over, upstarts took real share, and the panel's confidence in old names like iRobot and Neato didn't match what buyers were saying. The edge next goes to whoever converts a fast climb — Narwal, Dreame — into a settled position before the next upstart arrives.
- 01Whether Dreame's climb to 2 turns into a challenge for the number one spot.
- 02Whether Mova, Switchbot, and LG hold their debut rankings or fade like past newcomers.
- 03Whether the panel closes the gap with buyers on iRobot's star rating.
