Critics & buyers

What reviewers say

Distilled from the video reviewers — the score, what they praise, where they push back.?

Pixel Buds Pro
across 5 reviews
4.0/5
divided
Reviewers praise
  • Compact, well-built case with wireless charging
  • Strong, punchy sound with capable noise cancellation
  • Reliable multi-device Bluetooth switching
Reviewers push back
  • Some users experience ear soreness after long wear
  • No onboard EQ on the original model, limiting sound customization
  • Lower maximum volume than competitors
The original Pixel Buds Pro deliver strong sound, solid noise cancellation, and a compact case, though comfort and volume ceiling drew some complaints; a newer model exists that reviewers say improves fit, ANC, and battery further.
— best for: Android users, especially Pixel owners, who want strong sound and ANC in a compact, well-made case.
Powerbeats Pro 2
across 5 reviews
3.5/5
divided
Reviewers praise
  • Ear-hook design provides an exceptionally secure fit during vigorous activity that few competing designs can match
  • Active noise cancellation and transparency mode are genuinely good, representing a major upgrade over the previous generation
  • Battery life is strong, with fast-charge capability delivering substantial playback from a short charge
Reviewers push back
  • Charging case is significantly larger than competing cases and is not pocket-friendly
  • Noise cancellation and transparency mode are noticeably behind the best-in-class in-ear options
  • Heart rate monitor connectivity to third-party apps and gym equipment is unreliable for some users, with frequent disconnections reported
A strong workout earbud with excellent fit, improved ANC, and useful heart rate tracking, held back by a bulky case, inconsistent heart rate app connectivity, and noise cancellation that falls short of the best in-ear alternatives.
— best for: Athletes and gym-goers deeply embedded in the Apple ecosystem who prioritise an unshakeable fit and want integrated heart rate tracking without a wrist-worn device.

These Google buds are VERY high-tech. This is my first pair of blue tooth buds and these are amazing. They stay in my ears very well. They are totally controllable via little taps and swipes on either bud... volume, pause, skip or return to track, mode (like noise cancellation) or pass-thru. They auto pair with my phone and NEVER lose the connection. Of course they have mics so you can easily acce Donk · walmart.com

Love these earphones, the adjustable hooks keep them in locked in place no matter what I’m doing. You can run, lift weights, and sweat and they won’t move. They provide different ear plugs, which are more efficient. The sound quality is solid and well-balanced, you have different modes, noise cancellation, transparency, as well as spiral sound or fixed motion sound.
