In their words

I started buying August locks probably 10 years ago. I’ve used them for my house, my Airbnb, my mother’s house, everywhere I can so I can avoid carrying a key on a ring. They have gotten better and better. This is my first August with built in WiFi-a huge improvement. My 83 year old mother, 99% of my Airbnb guests, and friends and family are able to operate them without incident.

I’ve had August since their inception, one of each generation. The Gen 3 failed after about 5 years. I wish I’d realized the roughness in the turning was a flaw and gotten it replaced during the warranty period. When it failed (got so crunchy it wouldn’t turn) I replaced it with the only thing August offers and that’s this WiFi unit. I’ve since learned it’s a downgrade in many dimensions.
