About

What it is.

Series 9 Pro sits at the top of Braun's foil shaver lineup, pairing wet and dry use with AutoSense technology that reads beard density and adjusts cutting power accordingly. Its ProLift trimmer element and Sonic Technology work together to lift flat-lying hairs and cut them in fewer strokes, while a lockable precision switch isolates the head for detail work along the jaw and nose. A slide-out trimmer at the back handles sideburns. The included Clean & Charge station automates rinsing, lubrication, and charging between uses.

Built for people who want consistent results across varying beard lengths without adapting their technique, it suits users who prefer a fully-equipped kit over a bare shaver. Those with sensitive skin, or anyone bothered by a head that warms during operation, may want to weigh that against the shave quality on offer.

The verdict

The Braun Series 9 Pro ranks first among electric shavers in AI assessment, though its 4.3-star buyer rating masks sharp disagreement: owners consistently praise its quiet operation and design, but remain divided on shaving performance, blade longevity, skin irritation, and durability. Best suited to buyers prioritizing brand trust over proven shaving effectiveness.

In their words

I needed a new Braun Electric Razor because my 6 year old Braun gave out . So I decided to buy this new Braun 9 pro plus model 9599cc . I ordered it and three days later it came to my front door of my house. It work amazing and quiet as a church mouse, and shaves so smooth. I love it. It also came with its own portable charging case which will come in handy when I travel.

The shaver is just over a year old now and starting to fall apart. The push button just fell out and the blades are pretty worthless and cost a fortune. I have to continue to buy new blades since they dull so fast and it takes forever to shave. I called Braun about the button falling out and was told sorry the year warranty has worn out to buy another shaver.
