Owners love the efficient insulation, comfortable fit, and exceptional Michelin sole grip on ice, though some note the men's Omni-grip variant performs less effectively on slippery surfaces.

The verdict

What the panel makes of it.

Columbia makes the Bugaboot Plus IV Omni-Heat winter boot. The boot launched around 2016 in the United States. Omni-Heat thermal lining reflects body heat back to the foot. Mountaineers and winter hikers buy it to stay warm in snow. The boot solves the problem of cold feet in deep winter. AI assistants rank it fourth among the best winter hiking boots.

In their words

My wife and I were already happy owners of 6-7 years old Bugaboots and were looking to replace them with the exact same thing when stumbled on this updated model. The insulation is efficient, the fit is confortable with great support and the grip is just phenomenal. The Michelin sole is incredibly flexible and for me, the best feature is the energy return: The feeling of being propulsed forward at

The boot is true to size and very comfortable. The biggest difference is the Michelin rubber soles, which are very effective on ice. We also bought the same pair for men, however these have the Omni-grip soles, which are NOT very efficient on ice.
