What reviewers say

Distilled from the video reviewers — the score, what they praise, where they push back.?

880v13
across 5 reviews
4.0/5
mixed
Reviewers praise
  • Balanced, durable dual-density midsole that feels soft on landing but firm and energetic on toe-off
  • Secure heel lockdown with minimal slip
  • Wide range of available widths, good for varied foot shapes
Reviewers push back
  • Upper fits narrower and about a half size smaller than before, causing rubbing for some runners
  • Slight weight increase over the previous version
  • Not much changed from the prior model, which may disappoint those wanting a bigger update
The 880v13 remains a reliable, moderately cushioned neutral daily trainer, with this year's update mostly limited to the upper rather than the ride.
— best for: Runners and walkers wanting a dependable, moderately cushioned neutral shoe for daily mileage, recovery runs, or all-day wear.
Fresh Foam X 880v14
across 5 reviews
4.0/5
divided
Reviewers praise
  • Softer, lighter midsole than the previous version
  • Durable outsole and construction that holds up over many miles
  • Comfortable for daily miles, walking, and all-day wear
Reviewers push back
  • Fit runs snug in length and width for some despite New Balance calling it true-to-size
  • Lacks responsiveness or a lively, propulsive feel compared to plusher or more energetic shoes
  • Upper can feel warm underfoot
The 880v14 is a solidly redesigned daily trainer, softer and lighter than before, valued for its durability and all-day comfort but not for excitement on faster runs.
— best for: Runners and walkers who want a durable, comfortable everyday shoe for moderate mileage and all-day wear.

Finally a shoe with enough rubber on the heel to last more than just a few small runs! Great for a daily trainer, beginners or even a long race at a slower pace ie. Half or Full marathon when your gate is short and slow. Soft cushion throughout. Make no mistake, these are not elite race day shoes but what they do for the other 90% of us is like a tank. Very happy with my purchase. It's my 3rd pair but my 1st v14. Light weight, comfortable and stylish. My 4th pair is on the way. They last as long as possible. I work at a big box store and average about 10-17 miles walking in my 8 hour shift. More than pleased that they last 7-8 months. Do your feet a favor and buy a pair. Our feet are our foundation.
