Critics & buyers

The human jury in one chapter — what the video reviewers score and say, the reviews behind it, and how Google buyers rate them.

What reviewers say

Distilled from the video reviewers — the score, what they praise, where they push back.?

Arahi 8
across 5 reviews
4.0/5
divided
Reviewers praise
  • Lighter than the previous version, noticeably so on the run
  • Softer, more plush ride with increased stack height and smooth rocker geometry
  • Roomier toe box and improved upper fit compared to earlier models, accommodating wider feet
Reviewers push back
  • Significantly less responsive and less bouncy than predecessor models, disappointing fans of the earlier, livelier ride
  • Upper breathability is below average; the dual-layer jacquard mesh restricts airflow
  • Stability is milder than before — the H-frame and softer foam make it less corrective than the J-frame design, which may not suit moderate-to-severe overpronators
The Arahi 8 is a well-made mild stability daily trainer that is softer, lighter, and roomier than its predecessor, though it sacrifices the responsiveness and firmer stability that fans of earlier models valued.
— best for: Runners who mildly overpronate and want a soft, comfortable daily trainer with balanced support, particularly those with wider or higher-volume feet who found earlier versions too snug.

3.5/5

Reviewers praise
  • CenterPath stability geometry — wide platform and high sidewalls — guides the foot without feeling blocky or aggressive
  • Comfortable upper with a soft, slightly stretchy engineered mesh, good padding at the heel collar, and enough toe box room for natural splay
  • Smooth heel-to-toe transition makes it an easy, consistent shoe for daily mileage
Reviewers push back
  • PWRRUN foam lacks energy return and a lively feel; reviewers want more pop underfoot
  • Outsole rubber coverage is sparse; exposed midsole foam raises durability and wet-surface grip concerns
  • Changes from the previous version are minimal — the shoe is nearly identical to its predecessor
A comfortable, mild-stability daily trainer with a smooth ride and secure fit, let down by limited outsole rubber and a foam that lacks energy return.
— best for: Runners with mild overpronation or minor stability needs who want a plush, no-fuss daily trainer they can put on and forget about.

Outsole coverage divides reviewers: one reviewer accepts the exposed foam as a fair weight trade-off, while another explicitly says he would prefer more rubber even at the cost of extra weight

As someone who suffers from being flat footed, the Arahi 8 are very stable for these issues. I've compared brands like Brooks and Acsics and they are nothing like Hoka! (Brooks being second best imo). I've been wearing these since i bought them, they are super comfortable and sharp looking as well. I can wear these for errands, to long walks, and more. Only thing is i wish they came in more colors Fitnessjunkie_Ash · dickssportinggoods.com

I Iove these shoes. I previously ran in Hoka Bondi 9 but I would get such horrible blisters. These shoes give me all the same cushion but without the blisters. Really light, great option for marathon training I’d say. One caveat- after about 2-3 runs the exterior label on the shoe started to peel off. Still giving 5 stars because they are functionally a great shoe. Riley S · saucony.com
