What reviewers say

Distilled from the video reviewers — the score, what they praise, where they push back.?

Charge 6
across 5 reviews
3.5/5
divided
Reviewers praise
  • Heart rate accuracy during workouts is substantially better than the previous model, tracking closely with a chest strap across walks, bike rides, and high-intensity sessions.
  • The haptic side button restores easy navigation and performs as well as a physical button in daily use.
  • Built-in GPS delivers reliable route tracking, with distance closely matching dedicated sports watches.
Reviewers push back
  • Music controls are locked to YouTube Music Premium, leaving users of other streaming services without any remote control.
  • Heart rate broadcasting uses proprietary encryption incompatible with most third-party apps and bike computers, making the feature unreliable outside a narrow set of supported platforms.
  • Battery life falls well short of the seven-day claim under real-world use with GPS, always-on display, and sleep tracking active.
A capable fitness band with meaningfully improved heart rate accuracy and useful Google integrations, let down by locked-down music controls and a fragmented subscription ecosystem.
— best for: Casual to moderate fitness users who want accurate health tracking, sleep monitoring, and smartwatch conveniences in a slim, long-wearing band without needing full smartwatch capability.
Galaxy Watch 8
across 4 reviews
3.5/5
divided
Reviewers praise
  • Thin, flush profile and soft silicone band make it noticeably comfortable for all-day and sleep wear
  • Bright OLED display — boosted to 3,000 nits — reads well in strong sunlight
  • Stainless steel frame feels durable and shows no scratches in extended testing
Reviewers push back
  • Battery life with always-on display active lands around a day, requiring daily charging for heavier users
  • The squircle case design is polarising and leaves unused visual real estate in the corners
  • Body composition measurement is awkward on smaller wrists due to the flush, low-profile chassis
The Galaxy Watch 8 is a well-built, comfortable smartwatch with a capable display and solid health tracking, held back mainly by battery life that demands daily charging for heavier users.
— best for: Android users who want a slim, comfortable daily smartwatch with solid health monitoring, a sharp display, and tight Samsung Health integration.

Mike O'Brien 4.5/5
DC Rainmaker 3.5/5

DC Rainmaker found the heart rate broadcasting pairing process unreliable and frequently broken, while Wearable Whisperer completed a full cycling session with no connectivity issues at all.

Techisode TV 4.0/5
Mike O'Brien 3.5/5

Battery stamina divides reviewers: one found nearly two days possible with always-on display off and moderate use, while another characterised it as average and unremarkable compared to dedicated fitness watches

The watch is very light weight, dosent bother me at all when training. The strap is comfortable and easy to click together. Picks up on training activities automatically and keeps record. The battery life is good, normally lasts 4-5 days between charges. The ease of scrolling through training programs is easy with loads of workouts to choose. I was pleasantly surprised by the elegant and minimalist design – it looks luxurious, yet the watch is lightweight and very comfortable to wear. The strap is soft and stays firmly in place, even during workouts. Display is bright, crisp, and incredibly smooth – even outdoors in direct sunlight. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate between features and customize settings to fit my Ingi · Samsung
