Critics & buyers

The human jury in one chapter — what the video reviewers score and say, the reviews behind it, and how Google buyers rate them.

What reviewers say

Distilled from the video reviewers — the score, what they praise, where they push back.?

Reviewers praise
  • Applies smoothly with minimal white cast once set
  • Wears well under makeup or foundation without pilling
  • Contains added ingredients (enzymes, peptides, vitamin E) beyond basic sun protection
Reviewers push back
  • Has a noticeable fragrance/scent that some reviewers find unpleasant or irritating, especially near eyes
  • Not moisturizing on its own, requires a moisturizer underneath for dry skin
  • Runny, drippy texture that requires shaking and careful layering
Reviewers agree this mineral sunscreen applies smoothly, wears well under makeup, and suits sensitive or acne-prone skin, but the fragrance and its non-moisturizing formula are recurring complaints.
— best for: People with sensitive, dry, or acne-prone skin who want a mineral sunscreen that layers well under makeup and offers added skincare benefits.

As someone who lives in Texas, it’s essential for me to use sunscreen all year round! I have oily skin on my face but need hydration for my neck. I can’t use sunscreens with a heavy texture. This ultralight mineral sunscreen (zinc oxide - 100% mineral sunscreen) fits my skin type PERFECTLY!!! Look at the before-and-after photo - ZERO WHITE CAST!!! It absorbs very quickly and makes my skin feel sof Kateyavtushenk · sephora.com

I always get a white zinc cast from every mineral sunscreen, but I refuse to use the tinted, so I just pick my battles. So, to help minimize this white cast look, I first moisturize and wait until it is mostly absorbed. Then I apply a thin layer and pat it in instead of rubbing in. This seems to work for me. I am on Tretinoin 0.05% so my face needs a decent product that will not break the bank. Th CLee · cerave.com
