Reviewers praise
  • React X foam delivers noticeably more cushion and responsiveness than the previous react foam, making the ride more engaging and comfortable
  • Generous padding at the tongue and ankle collar, combined with an integrated lace system, provides a secure and comfortable lockdown fit
  • Wide toe box and waffle rubber outsole give a stable platform suitable for daily running and gym use
Reviewers push back
  • No shank or structural plate means the midsole can compress and lose spring over time, particularly for heavier or midfoot-strike runners
  • Some reviewers noted moderate heel slippage even after break-in, even with a runner's knot
  • Not suited for speed work or racing — the shoe prioritises comfort and durability over propulsion
The Pegasus 41 is a well-rounded, comfortable daily trainer that earns broad praise for its improved foam and fit, but reviewers flag it as uninspiring for speed work and note foam durability concerns under heavier use.
— best for: Runners and active commuters who want a comfortable, durable everyday trainer that handles easy-to-moderate runs, gym sessions, and casual wear without specialising in any one of them.

Foam feel divides reviewers: one describes it primarily as shock-absorbing rather than truly springy, while others emphasise its lively, responsive bounce

The Brooks Ghost 16 is an outstanding all-round running shoe that delivers exceptional comfort, reliability, and performance from the very first wear. The cushioning feels perfectly balanced—soft enough to absorb impact yet responsive enough for smooth, energetic runs—making it ideal for everything from daily training to long distances. The updated upper fits snugly without feeling restrictive, pr GeorgieVee · brooksrunning.com.au

This is a really good Pegasus. I’ve ran in versions 37, 38, 39, 40, and now 41, and I have to say this is the best one yet for what it is - a mileage workhorse. This is not the fastest shoe in the market, not the most cushioned shoe in the market, nor the most supportive. However, it is responsive, relatively lightweight, and stable enough to allow you to show up and log mile after mile after mile Daniel · store.nike.com
