About

What it is.

Coros positions the Vertix 2S within its Vertix line of rugged multisport watches, built for athletes who move between disciplines — running, swimming, cycling, gym training — without swapping gear. The black titanium case and sapphire glass signal a build meant to withstand demanding conditions, while the silicone strap (with an included nylon alternative) keeps it wearable through long sessions.

Under the housing, a multi-constellation GPS module (QZSS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou) handles route tracking, paired with wrist-based heart rate, pulse oximetry, and sleep monitoring for everyday health insight. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth bring smartphone notifications to the touchscreen display, and water resistance extends use to swimming. It's suited to those who want one dependable, full-featured watch from an established sports-tech maker rather than a niche or single-purpose tracker.

The verdict

The Vertix 2S wins strong buyer approval (4.8/5 stars) for its exceptional battery life and rugged build, though GPS accuracy and display rendering remain unresolved weaknesses from prior versions. It suits multisport athletes willing to accept these tradeoffs for comprehensive features and durability at $699.

In their words

Okay, as a beloved Garmin Fenix fan and previous owner (6X Pro sold it months ago), I was so stoked on the new update from Coros. We all know that Coros is king of the battery life and since taking ownership of it (August 27th and today is September 3rd) I’m still at 81% battery life. Keep in mind I’ve used it several times since on hiking adventures.

I had the Vertix 2 and I liked much of it but a few elements about it bothered me a little. The Dual band GPS wasn’t near as accurate as advertised, the mapping was very underdeveloped and there was a very purply blueish tint to the screen when the backlight was used. So far, have been pleasantly surprised with this update!

Reliability-Seekerproven & safe

Enthusiastjoy & aesthetics

You're drawn to sports watches that feel premium and perform beautifully in daily use.

Good fit

Owner reviews highlight design, durability, and display quality as standout strengths—signals of a product that delights beyond specs, not just a utilitarian tool.

Early Adopternewest first

You want the newest multisport watch with cutting-edge features no one else has yet.

Not for you

Vertix 2S is a solid current model, but no data confirms it's the latest generation or that a successor hasn't already launched. Consider Fenix 8.

Value-Maximizerprice first

You want a capable multisport watch without paying flagship prices.

Not for you

At ~$700, Vertix 2S is premium-tier pricing. Cheaper rivals like Forerunner 970 (~$650–705) or Galaxy Watch Ultra (~$400–749) offer comparable features at lower cost. Consider Forerunner 970.

Simplifierjust works

You need a watch that works straight out of the box with minimal setup.

Not for you

Multisport GPS watches are inherently feature-rich and configuration-heavy; Vertix 2S's high feature completeness suggests complexity, not simplicity.
