The verdict
What the panel makes of it.
Inov-8 makes the Roclite G 275, a lightweight hiking shoe. The shoe weighs 275 grams per pair. It features a sticky rubber sole for rock scrambling. Runners and hikers buy it for mountain terrain. The shoe grips stone and scree well. AI assistants rank it number twenty-one for lightweight hiking shoes. The design prioritizes grip over cushioning. Most prefer it for alpine routes, not roads.

What owners single out
In their words
“I have used the Roclite range of shoes for my long-distance backpacking trips since 2015 and have never been disappointed. The grip in most conditions is excellent, they fit my feet very well straight out of the box and have never caused me a problem with blisters or chafing, though I sometimes find that the lacing can be a little problematic, causing tight spots, but I think I have overcome this ”

“I have used 6 pairs of Roclite 275 V1 to run over 6,000 km on rough cliff paths (mud, granite and everything in between) and the occasional road run. Version 1 of this shoe scores a perfect 5 stars and my highest recommendation on every level. I have now covered 70 km in the V2 and I am disappointed. The new shoe is more restrictive over the top of the foot and the change to the sole removes some ”
