In their words

Awesome shoes , they are super supportive which is what I needed! So comfortable, upgraded to this pair as it’s the newer version of my wave 4. But they are just overall amazing shoes to own. I’ll never go back to any other shoe again. The athelete foot experts know there stuff!

Like walking on clouds, the spring is next level. Fit is quite tight for very narrow feet though, even though I don't have very wide feet. Not very keen on the navy/purple colour/pattern I chose. I bought online, so didn't get to visualise the colour well enough which is disappointing.

Good fit

Mizuno is a mature, established brand; 4.7/5 from 55 reviews shows solid consensus; Wave Horizon line is settled and well-tested, not a new entrant.

Quality Perfectionistbest-in-class

You're hunting for a genuinely excellent shoe with no meaningful compromises.

Good fit

High buyer trust (4.7/5, 55 reviews), strong across comfort, support, responsiveness, and durability; mid-tier fit/sizing is the only soft spot in an otherwise well-rounded profile.

Simplifierjust works

You want a shoe that works straight out of the box with no fuss.

Good fit

High comfort and support ratings suggest intuitive fit and feel; no mention of complex tuning or setup needs; Mizuno's reputation is straightforward, not technical.

Value-Maximizerprice first

You want a solid running shoe that won't break the bank but delivers real performance.

Could fit

Mid-range street price with high ratings across comfort, support, and durability signals strong value; no premium brand tax, but lacks the rock-bottom pricing of true budget rivals.

Enthusiastjoy & aesthetics

You love shoes that delight you beyond raw specs—design, feel, sensory appeal.

Could fit

Strong responsiveness and cushioning praise hints at engaging ride quality; Mizuno has design heritage, but reviews focus on function over passion or aesthetic standout.

Premium Connoisseurbrand & status

You value prestige and want a flagship shoe from an established maker.

Could fit

Mizuno is an established brand with heritage, but Wave Horizon 5 sits in the mid-market tier rather than flagship positioning; lacks the premium design language or exclusivity premium buyers seek.

Grounded in our buyer-review, reviewer-video, price and successor signals — a poor fit names a closer pick · as of Jun 29.
