Owners rave about exceptional comfort and cushioning that benefits both everyday wear and those with foot conditions, but some report premature mesh deterioration in the toe box.

Brand claims1/3 true3 promises checked

The marketing's cushioning and comfort claims are well-supported by owner feedback, with consistently high ratings. However, the durability and material quality story is more complicated—while the outsole grip appears solid, the engineered mesh upper shows premature deterioration in the toe box, contradicting the durability promise. Specifications like organic material content and calf strain reduction go unverified in the available data.

The mesh durability concern in review 6 aligns with the upper construction fit issues noted by video reviewers.

In their words

I have a condition in my feet due to which I start to feel pain in my feet within 20 mins which a normal person would feel in 3 hours. I have around 50 pairs, which include Jordans, yeezys, sketchers. Then after much research on the internet I got these Fresh Foam V5, these have been my best purchase. The most comfortable shoes I own.

Yajur Taneja · verified purchase · newbalance.com

The foam is cushioning as anticipated. Happy with the padding on walks compared to regular sneakers. The balls of the foot no longer after several miles. The only downside of the shoe is the mesh at the toe area is buckling only after three uses causing a bad worn out look. Don’t know if this is a design flaw or a bad batch of mesh.
