Brand claims4/5 true5 promises checked

Paula's Choice Omega+ Complex Moisturizer is honestly positioned as a ceramide and omega-rich hydrator for normal-to-dry skin, with reviewers confirming strong barrier-strengthening, lightweight texture, and genuine fragrance-free formulation. The marketing stretches slightly on universal skin-appearance benefits—while the product does deliver smoothness and a healthy finish, it divides on whether it's rich enough for very dry skin, and the soothing effect from passionfruit and guava is not substantiated in the review data.

About

What it is.

Omega+ Complex Moisturizer is a facial cream within Paula's Choice's skincare range, formulated for dry, dehydrated, or stressed skin in need of barrier support. Its composition centers on ceramides paired with omega fatty acids drawn from chia and flaxseed, alongside passionfruit and guava antioxidants, and it is built fragrance-free and silicone-free for sensitized skin types.

It's positioned as a straightforward evening step for people with normal-to-dry or dehydrated skin who want ceramide-and-omega support without added fragrance, rather than a multi-step routine. It suits those focused on reinforcing moisture retention over time; it is not intended for oily or acne-prone skin, nor as a guaranteed match under every mineral sunscreen.

The verdict

This ceramide-and-omega-rich moisturizer ranks #8 for barrier repair and earns 4.4/5 from nearly 1,000 buyers, with reviewers and owners united that it delivers lightweight hydration for normal-to-dry skin—though it may fall short for very dry complexions and can pill under mineral sunscreen.

AI summary of 5 reviews · as of Jul 2026

Reviewers agree this is a rich, well-formulated moisturizer with strong barrier-repair ingredients, best suited to normal, dry, or dehydrated skin rather than very oily skin.

What they praise

  • Rich blend of ceramides, omega fatty acids, and plant oils that supports the moisture barrier
  • Whipped, lightweight cream texture that absorbs well without feeling heavy
  • Fragrance-free formulation, well tolerated by sensitive skin
  • Long, ingredient-dense formula praised for including amino acids, antioxidants, and humectants alongside emollients

What they knock

  • Some reviewers with very dry or dehydrated skin feel it isn't rich enough on its own
  • Can pill under mineral sunscreens when used as a daytime moisturizer
  • Marketed mainly for normal-to-dry skin, so oilier skin types may find it unnecessary or need to layer carefully

Review 1 notes insufficient moisture for extra-dry skin using Tretinoin, echoing the video reviewers' concern about moisturizing power for severely compromised barriers.

In their words

Replaced Barrier Repair Moisturizer to this Omega Complex and i am super impressed! Main ingredient is Shea Butter it is slightly thicker than BRM with satin matte finishing. Can be applied separately with your preferred sunscreen it doesnt pill and your skin instantly well prep lock in the moist whole day.

verified purchase · shopee.com.my

I bought this because it was on sale and I was looking for a moisturizer that was a little less thick than the Paula's Choice Ultra Rich Clinical. It is an average moisturizer and will work well for someone with dry skin but it was not moisturizing enough for my extra dry skin. I use Tretinoin so my skin needs more moisture. But, this product smells fresh and has a great consistency.

Frequently asked

What buyers want to know.

  • What is Paula's Choice Omega+ Complex Moisturizer made for?

It's a fragrance-free moisturizer built around ceramides, omega fatty acids, and amino acids to repair and strengthen skin barrier. Reviewers recommend it primarily for normal-to-dry or dehydrated skin.

  • Does it feel heavy or greasy?

Reviewers describe it as dense but non-greasy with a whipped texture that absorbs well and finishes with a natural, slightly matte look.

  • Will this work under sunscreen?

Reviewers are split on this. One found it consistently pills under mineral sunscreens and switched to using it only in the evening, while another praised how cleanly it layers under sunscreen without pilling.

  • Is it rich enough for very dry skin?

Reviewers disagree. One warns it may underwhelm those with truly dry skin, while others with dry skin find it sufficiently rich. The brand targets normal-to-dry skin, so very dry complexions should approach carefully.

  • Who shouldn't use this moisturizer?

Those with very oily or acne-prone skin should be cautious, and it's not ideal if you need a single product that layers cleanly under all mineral sunscreens without pilling.

  • What do reviewers say about the packaging?

The airtight pump packaging keeps actives stable and is easy to use.
