01

The verdict

What the panel makes of it.

The Petcube Bites 2 ranks second for dog cameras and delivers reliable live monitoring and quick setup, but buyer enthusiasm wavers due to treat dispensing failures, WiFi drops, and aggressive ads that undermine its $75–$90 value proposition.

In their words

This device is super easy to set up and I got it on the first try. Download the app and follow the step by step instructions. We have a husky and you have one or know anyone who has one you know that they are very untrustworthy creatures. While I am at work I can stalk the old gal or if I am actually working and can't watch her live then I get a notification about movement in the area.

The first thing this unit tries to do is subscribe you to a monthly service. Then, the app you use to control it is FULL of ads trying sell more stuff, pet insurance, vet advice service, etc. Good luck finding the little dog one feature you have to hit to toss treats. And, it looks like there's a laser pointer on it you can do with your cats, there isn't one.

Find your situation?

Made for some — wrong for others.

Simplifierjust works

You want a pet camera that works straight out of the box with minimal fuss.

Good fit

Setup and ease of use rated high; the product is designed for quick deployment without complex configuration or technical barriers.

Premium Connoisseurbrand & status

You want a recognisable brand camera that signals quality and care for your pet.

Could fit

Petcube is an established, prestige pet-tech brand with strong brand positioning, though the 3.0/5 rating tempers the premium appeal.

Reliability-Seekerproven & safe

You need a proven, low-risk pet camera you can trust to work day after day.

Not for you

Only 21 ratings is thin consensus for a reliability-seeker; 3.0/5 score and reported WiFi connectivity issues undermine trust in dependability.

Value-Maximizerprice first

You want a pet camera that won't break the bank but still does the job.

Not for you

Mid-range price with a 3.0/5 rating and weak value-for-money feedback; cheaper rivals like the 360° Dog Camera cover basics for half the cost. Consider 360° Dog Camera.

Quality Perfectionistbest-in-class

You're looking for the best-in-class pet camera with no compromises.

Not for you

3.0/5 rating with low marks on treat dispenser, WiFi connectivity, and value; multiple weak aspects disqualify it from top-tier standing.

Grounded in our buyer-review, reviewer-video, price and successor signals — a poor fit names a closer pick · as of Jul 14.
