The verdict

What the panel makes of it.

In their words

This was a fantastic purchase and creation by PrAna. I love my new yoga mat! It gets stickier when I take it to a hot yoga class, and is very sturdy. The mat was heavier than I expected it, really nothing like the cheaper mats sold at various retail stores. It rolls out flat even after being rolled up for a while, and seems to be made well enough for me to have for many years to come.

Ok, so I love love(!) the cushion, grip, and texture of this mat. I’m even totally fine with the weight. But. The dye bleeds and I’m very hesitant to use this in a hot class. And I definitely will not be wiping it down with the studio’s towels. I ruined one of my own wash cloths cleaning it recently.

Find your situation?

Made for some — wrong for others.

Simplifierjust works

You want a yoga mat that works straight out of the box with no fuss.

Good fit

Eco-friendly yoga mats are inherently straightforward—unroll and use; the carrying strap adds convenience, and no setup or configuration is required.

Premium Connoisseurbrand & status

You value an established eco-conscious brand with prestige positioning.

Good fit

Prana is a recognized, heritage-backed brand with genuine eco-credentials and premium positioning; the carrying strap and design signal intentional craftsmanship beyond commodity.

Reliability-Seekerproven & safe

You need a proven, low-risk yoga mat from a brand you can trust.

Could fit

Prana is an established, mature brand with 123 reviews showing broad consensus at 4.3/5; the tier-3 catalog confidence and strong durability ratings signal a settled, trustworthy product.

Enthusiastjoy & aesthetics

You're drawn to yoga gear that feels good and reflects your values.

Could fit

Eco-friendly positioning and the carrying strap show thoughtful design, and Prana has a design-conscious reputation, but the product lacks the passionate sensory or aesthetic praise that delights…

Value-Maximizerprice first

You want a solid yoga mat without overspending on premium branding.

Could fit

Mid-range price with strong 4.3/5 rating covers basics well, but lacks the budget-friendly edge that makes value-maximizers feel they've won—a $32–50 cork mat does most of the job for half the cost.

Quality Perfectionistbest-in-class

You demand top-tier performance across every dimension of a yoga mat.

Not for you

High grip and durability are genuine strengths, but low marks in sweaty conditions, color stability, and hair attraction reveal clear compromises that disqualify it from best-in-class standing. Consider PRO Yoga Mat.
