Reviewers agree the S7 is an exceptional vacuum-mop hybrid with strong suction, reliable navigation, and a standout auto-lifting mop that handles mixed floors without manual intervention.

Mixed reviews

What they praise

  • Auto-lifting mop allows continuous cleaning across hard floors and carpet without removing the pad or making separate runs
  • Newly designed floating brush housing forms a tight seal on floors, delivering strong carpet deep-clean and crevice pickup despite moderate raw suction
  • Lidar navigation builds accurate maps on first run and handles multi-floor homes reliably
  • Sonic vibration mop actively scrubs rather than dragging a wet cloth, outperforming most hybrid mop systems
  • Compatible dock empties dustbin, refills water, and washes the mop pad for weeks of hands-free operation

What they knock

  • Raw suction and airflow numbers test lower than previous Roborock models despite good real-world cleaning
  • Rubber main and side brushes are louder than traditional bristle brushes
  • Obstacle avoidance occasionally fails on soft items like blankets or loose string
  • Auto-empty dock uses disposable bags rather than a reusable bin

The s7 is really awesome, when your hands are full and need to get a room cleaned up, I can simply tell google to clean that specific room and my s7 will do it! The reason why I gave this 4 starts instead of 1, I must say the the mopping ability is pretty cool but I really hate how I have to pre-wet the mop first because not a lot of water can be dispensed from the water tank. Frequently asked

What buyers want to know.

  • Is the Roborock S7 mop any good?

Reviewers say the mop is a standout feature. It uses sonic vibration to actively scrub rather than drag a wet cloth, outperforming most other hybrid mop systems. The auto-lifting mop lifts off carpet automatically, so you can run it continuously across mixed floors without stopping to remove the pad.

  • What is Roborock S7 best for?

It's best for people with both hard floors and carpet who want a truly automated system that runs unsupervised for weeks. The auto-lifting mop and hands-free dock that washes the pad make it ideal if you want minimal manual work.

  • How does the Roborock S7 handle navigation?

Reviewers note it uses lidar navigation to build accurate maps on the first run and handles multi-floor homes reliably. However, obstacle avoidance occasionally fails on soft items like blankets or loose string, and reviewers are split on how often this happens in practice.

  • What is the catch with the Roborock S7?

Raw suction and airflow numbers test lower than previous Roborock models, though real-world cleaning is still good. The rubber brushes are louder than traditional bristle brushes. The auto-empty dock uses disposable bags instead of a reusable bin, which adds an ongoing cost.

  • Does the Roborock S7 work on apartment floors?

Yes. Reviewers call it an exceptional vacuum-mop hybrid with strong real-world carpet deep-clean and reliable navigation. It ranks well among robot vacuums for apartment living and can handle mixed hard floors and carpet without tangling on pet hair.
