Owners rave about the lightweight design and ultra-compact fold perfect for travel and small spaces, but durability concerns and rough-terrain handling divide satisfaction.

Brand claims1/2 true2 promises checked

The marketing claim about newborn-to-toddler use and compact folding is well-supported by owner and expert reviews, which consistently praise the flat recline and overhead-bin portability. However, the pitch glosses over significant durability red flags—multiple owners report broken wheels, bent hoods, and snapped raincovers within months, and one expert specifically warns the folding mechanism may not endure, undercutting confidence in the product's long-term reliability despite its travel convenience.

In their words

Best money spent! We took our 8 week old to Spain and used the Jet 5 to get around. It fits in the overhead locker so no need to put the pushchair in the cargo hold. In Spain she laid in it to nap as it goes completely flat and the shade provided by the hood is perfect. I cannot wait to get many more years out of this pushchair! 10/10 would definitely recommend!!!

Sanne · verified purchase · silvercrossus.com

Bought this less than 3 months ago and one of the wheels is broken on it and the hood is all bent really cheap quality for the price the raincover snapped off the pram when was windy too so over all i would definitely not recommend this stroller really disappointed as silvercross is usually really good currently waiting to hear back from warranty but i will not be accepting the same stroller back

Frequently asked

What buyers want to know.

  • Is the Silver Cross Jet 5 cabin approved?

Yes. Reviewers note it folds compact enough to fit in airplane overhead bins, making it suitable for air travel.

  • What age is the Silver Cross Jet 5 for?

It works from newborn through toddler. The full flat recline supports newborns without needing an added attachment.

  • What is the storage basket like on the Jet 5?

The storage basket is small and difficult to access because a support bar blocks it. This makes it unsuitable if you need large under-stroller storage for shopping or daily errands.

  • How does the Jet 5 push compared to other compact strollers?

Reviewers say the large wheels give a smoother push than typical ultra-compact strollers, and the high seat height lets the child see out well.

  • Who is the Jet 5 best for?

It is best for parents who fly often or want one stroller that handles newborn through toddler in a small folded size. It is not ideal for parents prioritizing large storage space or long-term mechanical durability.

  • Are there any durability concerns with the Jet 5?

Reviewers are split on this. A mechanic-focused reviewer expressed skepticism about the long-term durability of the umbrella-style folding parts, while parent-facing reviewers focused on comfort and features without raising durability concerns.
