Reviewers agree the ZenBook 14 delivers premium build quality, excellent OLED displays, and strong battery life in a lightweight package, though Intel and AMD variants show meaningful performance and thermal differences.

Where reviewers disagree: Fan noise divides reviewers: Intel models exhibit high-pitch whine under load that bothers some testers, while AMD variants run quietly; one reviewer heard minimal fan noise even during gaming; Performance throttling varies: one reviewer found Intel throttles under sustained load while AMD maintains performance; another saw both manage thermals adequately; Touchscreen utility splits opinion: some find it convenient for quick interactions, others consider it awkward without full 180-degree hinge support

Reviewers split

What they praise

  • Exceptionally lightweight aluminium build (under 1.3kg) with solid construction and minimal flex
  • High-quality OLED touchscreen with 3K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, accurate colours, and strong brightness
  • Strong battery life, with reviewers consistently reporting 10-12 hours of real-world use
  • Comprehensive port selection including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and USB-A despite slim chassis
  • Good keyboard and large trackpad with smooth, wobble-free 180-degree hinge

What they knock

  • Soldered RAM prevents future upgrades
  • Intel variants can produce high-pitched fan noise under sustained performance loads
  • Some models show CPU thermal management issues with consistently high temperatures
  • Newer AMD Ryzen 7 variants perform nearly identically to previous generation for similar power draw

Who reviewers think this product is — and isn’t — for

For you if

Users seeking a portable Windows laptop for productivity work who value lightweight design, long battery life, and a premium OLED display without needing user-upgradeable components.

Look elsewhere if

Power users who need sustained multi-core performance, upgradeability, or quiet operation under heavy workloads should consider other options or wait for thermal improvements.

In their own words

  • this is almost a perfect display, be it for work as it's colour accurate, sharp, 16:10 like I said, bright enough to use outdoors

In their words

Great laptop, nice and quick, the 120hz OLED is buttery smooth and soft on the eyes, battery life is more than enough to last a day, size is nice and light. I don't have heat problems as others have described. Love the AMD chip. Also, the sound is very immersive with good treble, and base. One of the best sounding laptops on the market. Now two points which let this otherwise perfect laptop down.

This is my second Asus laptop. Like my last one, it is fast, solid, sleek, and is a pleasure to use, but this one is much better. I read the processor is so fast it generates heat quickly so I ordered a laptop cushion with fans. Some complained about the heat. I am impressed and try to prevent overheating to maintain speed. I am used to working with two screens, but need USB dock, wires, placement
