Short answer?

Take Balance 2 if you weight reviewer scores and a lower price; take Venu 3 if the AI ranking and buyer ratings matter more. That's where they diverge — elsewhere they're close.

How this is made

Built from what 4 AI models (Claude · Perplexity · Gemini · ChatGPT) recommend for real buyer questions, layered with reviewer test summaries, Google buyer ratings, street prices and press. The short answer and verdict are derived from where those signals diverge — not written by hand for either product.

What reviewers say

Distilled from the video reviewers — the score, what they praise, where they push back.?

Balance 2
across 5 reviews
4.0/5
mixed
Reviewers praise
  • AMOLED display reaches 2,000 nits with sapphire glass protection — bright, scratch-resistant, and visible in direct sunlight
  • Real-world battery life lands around 10–14 days with typical use including workouts and health tracking, well above most AMOLED competitors
  • GPS accuracy is among the best reviewers have seen on a non-Garmin device — locks quickly and holds reliable pace data across running, cycling, and hiking
Reviewers push back
  • Sleep tracking, while improved over the previous model, does not match dedicated sleep trackers on micro-awakening detection and HRV granularity
  • Sapphire crystal sits exposed above the bezel with no protective lip, raising the risk of edge impact; screen protectors do not adhere cleanly
  • Smudges accumulate visibly on the sapphire surface
Reviewers broadly agree the Balance 2 is one of Amazfit's strongest watches yet, delivering flagship-grade hardware in a lightweight build with exceptional battery life, though it falls short of Garmin and Oura on sleep depth and lacks the smart-platform depth of Wear OS or Apple Watch.
— best for: Fitness-focused users who want multiband GPS, long battery life, sapphire glass, and solid health tracking in a lightweight daily-wear package without paying flagship Garmin prices.
Venu 3
across 5 reviews
3.5/5
divided
Reviewers praise
  • AMOLED display is vivid and sharp, praised across all five reviews for contrast and colour quality
  • Battery life far exceeds comparable smartwatches with similar display technology, with reviewers confirming real-world figures close to rated claims
  • Fifth-generation Elevate heart rate sensor delivers meaningful accuracy improvements over prior generations, particularly for steady-state activities
Reviewers push back
  • No triathlon mode and limited advanced swim features disappoint multi-sport and open-water athletes
  • Heart rate sensor lags during sprint intervals and high-intensity efforts, a known limitation of wrist-based optical sensors on this watch
  • Sleep coach personalisation feels generic — multiple reviewers noted that suggested sleep targets were identical across very different users
Reviewers broadly agree the Venu 3 is a compelling health-focused smartwatch with excellent battery life and a beautiful AMOLED display, though it falls short for serious multi-sport athletes who need triathlon or advanced swim modes.
— best for: Health-conscious everyday wearers who want a polished, long-lasting smartwatch with deep wellness tracking — sleep, HRV, body battery, and nap detection — and do not rely on triathlon or advanced multisport modes.

Where reviewers split on Balance 2: Battery endurance estimates vary: one reviewer reports roughly 10 days under heavy use while another estimates closer to 14 days, suggesting real-world results depend heavily on settings On Venu 3: Reviewers differ on how significant the missing triathlon and swim features are — DC Rainmaker treats their absence as a notable gap while Mike O'Brien barely mentions them, focusing instead on everyday smartwatch strengths

I like use look and aesthetics of this watch. It's comfortable and the battery last just shy of a month. The app is very thorough and it works great on both Apple and Android. I love the custom ability and all the watch faces it has. It's as good as a Garmin watch and can customize it like an android. I'm very happy with it b MichaelR · amazfit.com

I bought this Gamin Venu 3 watch after deliberating for a very long time about buying an Apple Watch.... The Garmin Venu 3 won out on the battery time (I can wear it for about a week before I need to charge it). I only use my watch for basic health related monitoring but it has a massive amount of functions that would be super useful for anyone who is casually into monitoring their health/sport re WolfMother · very.co.uk
