Owners love the immediate comfort, waterproofing, and lightweight design, but durability concerns—particularly sole delamination—and weak arch support divide satisfaction.
The verdict

Danner makes the Trail 2650 Mid GTX hiking boot. The company is American. It was designed for rough terrain and wet conditions. Gore-Tex waterproofing keeps feet dry in rain. What owners single out
Sole durability issues that buyers flag align with the delamination problem video reviewers may have raised as a structural weakness.
In their words
“I’ve had the 600’s for almost two years, great boots! Got these for Xmas and they are really nice. First hike in them today was 4. 5 miles, and they are extremely comfortable out of the box with good ankle support. Lighter weight than my 600’s. Can’t go wrong with Danner hiking boots…”

“I have the original 2650, but the soles of mine appear identical to soles of newer version. The problem I encountered is the soles are delaminating. On both shoes, that black outer layer is peeling off. Ironic because I switched to Danners when the soles of my Keens did the same thing. A tube of Shoe Goo should accompany every pair of these. Definitely will not buy again.”
