01

The verdict

What the panel makes of it.

The Technivorm Cup-One brews single cups of coffee. Technivorm made it in the Netherlands. The brewer uses a pour-over dripper with thermal carafe. People buy it who want coffee without waste. They brew one cup at a time, nothing more. The machine heats water to exact temperature. Shopping algorithms track this brewer across multiple queries weekly. It sits between espresso machines and full drip brewers. The ceramic filter cone holds grounds above the cup. Water flows through grounds and into the vessel below. No electricity required. No complicated parts to break or clean.

In their words

I had a generic coffee maker and my coffee always had a bitter taste, so I went in search of something better. All of the reviews I read led me here. I have to say that it was easily one of the best decisions I could have made. It really does live up to the height of all the reviews. Smooth taste and no bitterness. It also brews a cup relatively quickly. I also like the simplicity of the machine a

This is absolutely the worst coffee maker I have ever used. Maybe you will get a good one. Maybe i got a lemon. It gets clogged and dumps coffee everywhere every time I use it. I scrub out the filter, dig out the hole with a safety pin and still I'm cleaning coffee off my walls and counter tops. Unbelievably frustrating for a 250 dollar coffee maker.
