The verdict

What the panel makes of it.

The Rich Cream ranks #20 among barrier repair options and delivers intense hydration that mature and dehydrated skin owners praise, though its thick texture and premium price divide buyers on whether the investment suits everyday use across all skin types.

Buyers' weakest aspect—texture application difficulty—echoes video reviewers' concerns about the cream's thickness requiring heavy massage for even distribution.

In their words

This is an incredible product and if you can afford it then don’t hesitate because this is worth every penny. It’s a rich, luxurious and highly hydrating cream that plumps up skin and gives it a beautiful velvety softness. I believe it is made with aging or/and dehydrated skin in mind - it’s intensely nourishing and may be too heavy for younger or oily skin types.

I have been using this cream for 2 weeks, and then....I ran out of my samples. It is on the expensive side, but this is a luxurious brand, so that is expected. Downside-I am not sure if I like the formula that much, it is very thick, not sticky. You need to rub, and massage your face heavily in order to apply it evenly.

Premium Connoisseurbrand & status

You seek a prestige skincare brand that signals quality and craftsmanship.

Good fit

Augustinus Bader is an established luxury brand with flagship positioning, premium packaging, and price point ($116–195) that aligns with connoisseur expectations.

Reliability-Seekerproven & safe

You want a proven moisturizer backed by real user consensus and brand stability.

Good fit

5715 ratings show broad consensus, Augustinus Bader is a mature established brand, and the product has settled into the market with consistent positive reception.

Quality Perfectionistbest-in-class

You want a cream that delivers visible hydration and nourishment without compromise.

Good fit

High buyer trust (4.3/5 from 5715 reviews) and strong hydration/nourishment marks, but mid-tier suitability for skin type and texture application prevent top-tier perfection.

Enthusiastjoy & aesthetics

You appreciate skincare that feels luxurious and delivers a sensory experience.

Good fit

High marks for packaging and presentation, plus strong hydration/nourishment appeal to enthusiasts, though low scent rating and mid texture marks limit sensory delight.

Value-Maximizerprice first

You want effective skincare without paying a premium markup.

Not for you

Street price of $116–195 is well above budget alternatives; cheaper rivals like Ultra Repair ($42) or Toleriane ($11) cover hydration basics without the luxury premium. Consider Ultra Repair Cream.
