Pringles began in 1968 at Procter & Gamble's laboratory in Cincinnati, Ohio. Alexander Liepa designed the curved potato chip. They make stackable, uniform potato crisps in a cylindrical can. The distinctive shape and packaging became iconic immediately. Stacking chips in a tube solved a fundamental problem: breakage. The uniform saddle curve allowed efficient packing.
